I finally got a chance to play Left 4 Dead multiplayer last night, and man... it's a lot of fun. In some ways the game reminds me of Serious Sam - fast, furious, straightforward. L4D has a bit more depth to it, but it also has a of purity of concept that just makes it work so well. There's no fluff here, no needless complexity - you and 3 buddies simply kill zombies, and lots of them. The awesome B-movie horror styling and the cheesy one-liners from the characters are just icing on the cake.
